Last November Turbine released Mines of Moria, the long awaited commercial expansion pack to their fantasy MMO Lord of the Rings Online. Now the developer is prepping the first free content update to the game since the expansion's release and they have sent out the first screenshots from that very update.

Microsoft's Games For Windows Live program has added another game to their library. The official web site for Microsoft's PC game service announced that the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game will support Games For Windows Live features when it comes out later this summer. The Rocksteady Studios-Eidos title will give players access to Live achievements and other features

Last month Japanese publisher Square Enix surprised many by announcing their intentions to purchase UK based publisher Eidos for about $120 million. Today Eidos announced the schedule it plans to follow that will lead to its final acquisition by Square Enix.

EA's efforts to relaunch the Need For Speed racing-action franchise this year has three prongs of attack and one of them is Need For Speed Shift, a more pure racing series that's under development at UK based Slightly Mad Studios. Today EA released new screenshots from Need For Speed Shift showing off more of what they have planned for the title.

The PC demo for Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has been one of Big Download's most popular in recent memory (if you haven't tried it you can grab it for yourself). However it looks like the full retail version of the game has hit yet another release snafu.
